The St
Keverne Local History Society
Holds the archive produced by Cannon Diggens who
was vicar in St Keverne at the end of the 19th
century. He researched into every aspect of our
history available to him at the time, in both
national and local archives.
St-Keverne
Parish Hall
A registered charity organisation, staffed by
volunteers of St Keverne.
Available for public bookings and social events.
Seats up to 340 people.
One of the few Parish Halls with a Licenced
Bar.
St
Keverne Parish Churches
The Parish of St. Keverne with Coverack encompasses
a large part of the south east Lizard peninsular.
There are two Anglican churches in the parish, St.
Keverne, which dates from the 15th Century and St.
Peter`s at Coverack, built in the latter part of
the 19th Century. The parish is part of Kerrier
deanery which is in the Diocese of Truro, Cornwall.
There are also two Methodist churches at St.
Keverne and Ponsongath. This web site is mainly
concerned with the Anglican churches. Though there
is a lot of inter church activity. The churches of
the parish cater for a variety of styles of worship
and spiritual needs.
St
Keverne Band
The St Keverne band is the most southerly band on
mainland Britain. The village of St Keverne has
maintained a band for over 100 years and encouraged
a large number of players to achieve success at
various levels of music making. The band is totally
self-financing and believe that their efforts
provide valuable opportunities for all the people
of the Lizard Peninsula.
St
Keverne Allotment
We are a small and friendly group of St Keverne and
surrounding community, enjoying our own little piece
of land to cultivate. Growing veggies and flowers,
all of the plots are being developed in different
ways, bringing out the personalities of those
tending their little bit of ground.
St
Keverne Short Mat Bowls Club
We are a small friendly club in the beautiful
historic village of St Keverne in Cornwall. We
welcome new members regardless of age or gender. No
experience necessary but please bring clean flat
soled shoes or slippers to wear on the mats.
League matches are played from October to March for those
who wish to participate.
We also play a number of "friendlies" outside the season.
Please contact the secretary if you wish to arrange a
match. We would also be pleased to hear from
visiting teams from "up country" who wish
to arrange a "friendly". Alternatively
visitors to Cornwall might like to call in on club
night for a roll up. Anyone wishing to do so is
advised to contact the secretary to check this does
not conflict with a match.
St-Keverne
Parish Council
The landscape of the parish is most varied, ranging
from the vast windswept expanse of Goonhilly Downs
which supports many rare heathers and flowers, it
is also home to the Earth Satellite Station, to
sheltered valleys leading down to many beaches and
coves.
Coverack
Community Website
The aim of this website is to provide useful
information to members of the Coverack village
community, and to the many visitors who choose to
spend time in Coverack. The website is run by a
small group living in the village, and working for
the community.
